![]() ![]() THE SHOWS An evening at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is an experience you will never forget. The unique style of shows presented in this 1890s style theatre are a combination of Old English music hall, American vaudeville, Monty Python, and Broadway musical comedy. The original shows are quick-witted sensations filled with the broadest of humor and the silliest of slapstick all guaranteed to be unlike anything you´ve seen before. Since opening in Gatlinburg in 1977, Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre has been recognized as one of the most innovative and unusual professional theatres in the country and was named an historical treasure by the city of Gatlinburg. Two completely different shows are presented each season and are alternated nightly. Our multi-talented performers are all well-seasoned professionals of stage, screen, TV, and night clubs. Each show they take turns adding their uniqueness to the inevitable comic mayhem for which Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is renowned. The creative force behind the theatrical magic at Sweet Fanny Adams is the wonderfully off-beat talents of Pat and Don MacPherson. They have written, produced, and directed over 32 original musical comedies. Their shows have played in over forty professional theatres throughout the country including New York, Los Angeles, Atlantic City and an over two year run of their musical Tom Jones at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas. Don was born when he was very young. As a young man he developed a phobia of vividly colored Hawaiian shirts. This has not stopped him from doing what he loves best - Theatrical Physics. In his spare time, Don enjoys directing and acting in strange musical comedies, running a family business and avoiding his son's tofu recipes.
Discovered in a saloon, Janice first appeared on our stage in 1979 in her favorite show "Tom Jones". Since then Janice has sung and danced her way through just about every show here. Janice has a fantastic husband Dennis, who has helped the theater in more ways than we can count, and two beautiful children. Janice was out of town during the Duck Lake Debacle. She holds the Guinness Book of World Records for orange peeling.
Tim first sauntered upon our stage in 1987 and has shown up every year since. He has played a staggeringly wide variety of roles, breads, and confections but, never a sesame bun and is most disappointed about it. When not performing Tim enjoys weddings (he is ordained minister and marries people). Please do not ask Tim about his role in the Screaming Slug Productions of "Duck Lake". He gets most upset.
Chris began his acting career at the tender age of six right here on our stage. As Crunchy the Clown, he toured the country with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. Fortunately for all of us he ran away from the circus and came home. In his spare time, Chris enjoys creating new Tofu recipes and working on his tan. Chris is thrilled to include three Screaming Slug Productions on his resume.
